Northshore O’ahu

Aloha!! It was a beautiful morning in O’ahu and we started out early in the morning with a stroll around Waikiki beach. The mornings were always so pleasant and beautiful in Hawaii. The sun looked magical while the ocean reflected its purest color. It was our 2nd last day in O’ahu and we were visiting to north shore and the Polynesian cultural center. We were both looking forward to experience the Polynesian culture and taste the Ali’s Luau (Polynesian feast). Most importantly, I couldn’t wait to watch some hula dances 😉

And of course! We had to take some jumping shots 😉northshore-6197

If you go through a travel guide given to you in Hawaii, you will know exactly why we stopped here. Fumi’s Kahuku Shrimp are very renown for their amazing truck food that was so good yet very cheap!! Recommend to all the visitors out there…

We were starving after beach hopping around the north shore and we devoured on their famous Spicy Garlic Shrimp and it was so good!! Rice is their staple and you get a side of it in pretty much any entree you order. And not to forget, a slice of pineapple as well 😉 Hubby and I, we both loved sipping fresh coconut water ….. it was so refreshing and we would have one anytime we saw local stops selling it!DCIM102GOPRO

Oh and they say… no Hawaii visit is complete without a Shaved Ice at North Shore 😉 So I had to try it!! Hubby wasn’t a fan but I liked how cute it looked in pictures and helped beat the heat after a nap at the beach :)

Finally, HULA time :) Yayyy!! Prior to my visit to Hawaii, I always thought that girls in Hawaii dressed in Grass green Hula Skirt haha… and my imagination came true when we visited The Polynesian Cultural Center  😉 This place was another memorable experience. It was in a tiny village like setting portraying the rich Polynesian Culture and various activities for any age group. Activities like Canoe Pageant, Spear Throw, Fire Making were entertaining the visitors. There was just so much to explore.

Hubby poses with the King right before we headed to the Ali’i Luau where we experience the outstanding Hawaiian Hospitality and tasted some authentic Hawaiian Food. Ali’l Luau refers to the feast that fits a king and had Hawaiian food including the famous Poke, along with bunch of fresh fruits, vegetables and also featured live music and traditional Hawaiian song and dance that amused us. DCIM102GOPROnorthshore-6205
We concluded this beautiful day by watching the famous live show at the Cultural Center. It was called-Breath of life, it was a story full of passion, ignited fire and the songs and dance were out of the world. It was my first live show ever and I was awed by the lively performance.

A day very well spent :) Can’t wait to share more posts from rest of my vacation.

Until next time, <3
